Cancelled LEGO NINJAGO character rumoured for 71837 Crossroads

Cancelled LEGO NINJAGO character rumoured for 71837 Crossroads

The latest minifigures rumoured for LEGO NINJAGO 71837 Crossroads include some deep cuts from the TV show – along with a character once planned for a cancelled set.

Believed to be coming in March with 3,244 pieces for $249.99, 71837 Crossroads is shaping up to be NINJAGO’s flagship 2025 release. And while the LEGO Group has yet to even confirm the existence of the 14+ model, Instagram user fateful_04 has now shared more info on the set’s minifigure line-up, which is said to consist of 10 different characters in total.

Already reported to be in the mix are Pixal, Zane and a Dragonian Warrior, and joining those in this latest update are Dorama and Dr. Larow, a pair of minor antagonists from the NINJAGO Dragons Rising TV series. They both have interesting character designs – most notably Dorama’s purple stovepipe hat – but how closely those will translate into physical minifigures remains to be seen.

Also now on the cards for 71837 Crossroads is Twitchy Tim, a character who first appeared in The Island, a mini-series sandwiched between Seasons 13 and 14 of the TV series. According to LEGO NINJAGO designer Niek van Slagmaat, Twitchy Tim was originally due to appear in a minifigure accessory pack titled ‘Twitchy Tim’s Bizarre Adventure’ – but the set was ultimately cut ‘because of a bottleneck in production’.

He would therefore be a long overdue addition to the LEGO NINJAGO minifigure pantheon, so it’s good news for anyone who’s been holding out for a Twitchy Tim minifigure all these years. But this latest update from fateful_04 isn’t entirely rosy: they’ve also cast doubt on the appearance of the previously-rumoured Alfonzo Frohicky minifigure, stating there’s ‘a possibility’ they won’t be included in 71837 Crossroads after all.

The same source says a full reveal of the set will take place soon, so we hopefully won’t have to wait too much longer to find out if 71837 Crossroads really is on the way in March – and which minifigures it will bring to the table. Also not yet known at this stage is whether this set will fit in with the NINJAGO City modulars, or act as a standalone set like 71814 Tournament Temple City.
