Following the relocation of the Manchester Arndale store, both the Cardiff and Berlin stores are moving soon too in the latest shuffle of LEGO shops.
The Cardiff and Berlin LEGO stores have outgrown their original locations and both will soon be moving to another nearby unit, but rest assured that you won't have to go far to find either new location. Those planning on visiting the relocated stores once they re-open may be able to find a few offers, as we recently did at the re-opening of the Manchester Arndale store. Our experience included the discovery of a new and exclusive gift-with-purchase, but your experience may vary.
Here's what you can expect from both stores, though some details have yet to be confirmed.
Cardiff
Wales Online reports that the Cardiff store is moving to a bigger location in the St David's shopping centre. The new store is said to include the usual amenities, such as a Pick a Brick wall, minifigure towers and giant LEGO models on display.
This sounds similar to the recent Arndale move, which gained a store-exclusive display build and a store that is more than double the size of the last location. A re-opening date has not been confirmed at the time of writing, but you can keep track of this store on its official webpage.
Berlin
The Berlin flagship store on the Tauentzienstrasse shopping street is also confirmed to be moving, as reported by DEAL. The store is moving from unit 20 to unit 8. You can see the new location from the current store, just across the four-way intersection diagonally on the opposite side.
"We are delighted to announce that we are relocating our LEGO Store Berlin – just a short distance down the street, so we can continue to be part of the local community," says Shweta Munshi, Vice President of Marketing at LEGO Retail at the LEGO Group. "We are continuously investing in our store portfolio, and this new store will be a first-class retail destination for new products and events – a meeting place for our LEGO community and new builders alike."
The moved store will reportedly include the same amenities as before, and since this is a flagship location, you might be able to see some additional, giant display builds exclusive to the store, as was added to the Leicester Square store when it was refurbished. This is only speculation on our part, though, and the new store will open this Autumn. An in-store re-opening event has also been confirmed.
