Every possible future LEGO Ideas '90s IP from first challenge

Every possible future LEGO Ideas '90s IP from first challenge

The first LEGO Ideas '90s challenge has stopped accepting submissions, giving us our first look at dozens of properties that could be a future set.

Before the second part begins tomorrow, the entry intake period has ended for the first LEGO Ideas '90s IP challenge, accepting builds of between 1,000 and 5,000 elements based on movies, TV shows and more from the '90s.

There will only be one official set as a result of this contest despite the 199 submitted models and only five will be moving to the fan vote phase on February 10. Before then though, let's look at every property covered in the nearly 200 submissions, and which ones are the most popular.

Looking at the lengthy list, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Edward Scissorhands and Jumanji all come out on top with 13 models based on Dragon Ball alone – placing at the front of the pack.

One Piece is an especially interesting contender given that it's rumoured to be getting a full theme this year and may not be eligible for the challenge any longer. While nothing has been picked quite yet, this might end up being a good year for LEGO anime models should One Piece's rumoured theme be real and Dragon Ball win this challenge.

The other useful purpose of this list is a look (but not nearly a comprehensive guide) at which 250 intellectual properties were recently approved for LEGO Ideas models.

With the second '90s challenge due to start tomorrow, we should know which massive model is coming to LEGO Ideas in the future from this contest on June 2. It will be interesting to see whether any of the above properties reappear in the second challenge too.
