Five LEGO themes that deserve more love from LEGO in 2025

Five LEGO themes that deserve more love from LEGO in 2025

It's been a busy year for new LEGO themes but there are some ranges that could do with a little more love from the LEGO Group next year.

With the introduction of LEGO Fortnite, Wicked, Wednesday and more, it's been a game-changing year for the LEGO portfolio. That said, with so many new projects and themes, it was inevitably going to be a more quiet year for some themes. Others have been more active in the portfolio but have clear potential that has yet to be realised, even in their debut year.

Whether they've had a quiet year, have a promising future or are seemingly disappearing – here are five LEGO themes that deserve more love from the LEGO Group in 2025.

DC / Batman

LEGO Batman / DC has a promising year ahead of it starting with the return of a hero other than Batman or a member of his team in 76302 Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor. Still, with the DCU kicking off properly with the Superman movie it would be a shame to see LEGO DC not look further than Superman after years of just Batman.

The theme used to cover the likes of Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and many more heroes. Rumours posit that Batman is instead going to be nearly the sole focus for the theme next year and we can only hope that the theme will receive more attention for a few unexpected minifigures at least in 2025.

Fortnite

After LEGO Fortnite started earlier this year, the theme's first four sets have proved that the range can be as diverse as the LEGO Group wants it to be but still introduced nine long-awaited LEGO Fortnite minifigures in 77073 Battle Bus.

Rumours state that there will be more minifigures in LEGO Fortnite in 2025 and we can only hope that there are more to come after 77073 Battle Bus has proven to be a hit with fans of the game around the festive season. The LEGO Group would be wise to follow this set's success with more LEGO Fortnite minifigures in 2025 and it's well-deserved after just four sets.

Indiana Jones

LEGO Indiana Jones' only three sets are all retiring in a matter of days and are sold out around the world on the official online store. After a fourth set was cancelled hopefully, the LEGO Group aren't planning to give up on LEGO Indiana Jones entirely but nothing more is rumoured for theme in 2025 at the time of writing.

Despite the box office of the most recent movie, the other Indiana Jones films have plenty of potential for future LEGO sets and 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol made clear the potential for display-centric builds based on the movies.

Wicked

Much like LEGO Fortnite, LEGO Wicked launched later in 2024 to time with the release of the Wicked movie. The four sets are good representations of the film but don't cover every possible scene. That's not necessary for any movie-inspired sets but proves that there's still potential for LEGO Wicked.

The reason why it deserves more love in 2025 is a combination of the first movie performing well at the box office and the second film due to be released on November 21, 2025. Rumour has it that more models for the theme are on the way next year, including a milestone model and we can only hope that these rumours turn out to be true.

The Legend of Zelda

After the arrival of 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 this year, LEGO The Legend of Zelda is distinctly classed as a full theme on the official online store. This is similar to LEGO Stranger Things which only had one full set as well.

The first LEGO The Legend of Zelda set only covers two of the many games in The Legend of Zelda franchise and from Hyrule Castle to Guardians, there's much more left to cover in a LEGO theme based on the games. It certainly deserves more love from the LEGO Group in 2025 and beyond after we waited years for a LEGO The Legend of Zelda set.
