Ahead of its debut in October, a video has been released to explain how to play the new LEGO Monkey Palace board game and build the best model.
LEGO Monkey Palace, in partnership with Ticket to Ride publisher Asmodee, is launching later this year. To help get you ready to play, Watch It Played has been provided with an early copy of the game, teaching us all how to play.
For LEGO enthusiasts, the video also details exactly what pieces are included, but the board game isn’t an incredible parts pack by any means. That makes sense, as it has been designed as a board game first. Still, it’s good to know exactly what’s included.
The board game appears to be fairly complicated with much more depth than just building the best palace possible. Instead, it revolves around building staircases with a combination of elements and rules on when and where you can’t build during a turn.
Add to that an in-game shop and we imagine that most of LEGO Monkey Palace’s mechanics will become easier the more you play. For the first game in the partnership with Asmodee, it’s a strong start that shows how in-depth these new LEGO board games can be.
LEGO Monkey Palace is confirmed to be released at some point in October, but we know for certain that it will debut at the board gaming convention Essen Spiel on October 3.
