LEGO Ideas 21355 The Evolution of STEM officially revealed

The next LEGO Ideas set takes a contest-winning concept and transforms it into something much grander in scope and ambition in 21355 The Evolution of STEM.

Making its LEGO Store debut on March 1, 2025 and available to pre-order online from today, 21355 The Evolution of STEM is based on the winning entry from LEGO Ideas’ ‘Celebrate the wonder of STEM’ contest held at the tail end of 2023. Ideas user danielbradleyy’s ‘Knowledge is Power’ model demonstrates the endless potential of knowledge, visualising the various strands of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) bursting from the pages of a book.

The finished LEGO set takes that concept and dials it up to 11, increasing the part count from 528 to 879 and adding to or upgrading the smaller builds leaping from the pages of the brick-built book. A rotating DNA strand and floating carbon atom give it much more vertical presence than the original submission, while several of the breakthroughs and innovations depicted are now tied specifically to the three included real-life scientist minifigures.

Those are Sir Isaac Newton, Marie Curie and George Washington Carver, moving beyond the anonymous architect and economist included in danielbradleyy’s build. There’s the apple tree under which Newton is said to have been sitting at the moment he developed his law of universal gravitation; a microscope; a small cityscape; the NASA Voyager probe; an early car and computer; and much more besides.

It adds up to a real celebration of all things STEM, as per the title of the contest. 21355 The Evolution of STEM is available to pre-order from today for £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 and launches March 1, 2025. It follows hot on the heels of February 2025’s brand new 21354 Twilight: The Cullen House.
