The new LEGO Batmobile collection is the chance we've been waiting for

The new LEGO Batmobile collection coming next year isn't just for remakes, offering the LEGO Group the chance to explore vehicles in one-off sets.

The LEGO Group's new Legendary Batmobile Collection, starting next year in three sets for the 20th anniversary of LEGO DC, is intriguing. LEGO DC is no stranger to new Batmobile builds, but they've never been part of a singular collection spanning multiple movies before.

This presents the LEGO Group with the chance to cover Batmobiles in smaller, more affordable sets with only a single minifigure each. The new sets kicking off this collection next year include 76331 Batman v Superman Batmobile, 76332 The Batman Batmobile and 76333 Batman & Robin Batmobile, one of which is drastically different from the rest.

Two of these three models revisit Batmobiles we have seen in LEGO sets before, including in the relatively recent 76181 Batmobile: The Penguin Chase from 2022. The other is a brand-new Batmobile for the LEGO Group, recreating the vehicle from 1997's Batman & Robin movie.

This demonstrates from the start of this new collection that it can cover new Batmobiles, as well as remake those seen in older sets. It's also worth noting that each of these Batmobiles also appears (with nearly-identical designs) in the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game. The title also has several other confirmed LEGO Batmobiles for the collection to pick from in the future. No further Legendary Batmobile Collection sets have been confirmed at the time of writing, and this is only speculation based on the vehicles in the game.

An interview with TT Games’ Strategic Director & Head of Development Team, Jonathan Smith, via IGN, confirmed that the other Batmobiles in the game would include those from the 1989 Batman movie, The Dark Knight's Tumbler, the classic 1966 Batmobile, Batman: The Animated Series and the Arkham Knight game. We also know that the Batman Forever Batmobile has a spot in the game and a design that downscales the recent set.

The Legendary Batmobile Collection could easily revisit the Batmobiles from the 1989 Batman movie, The Dark Knight, the classic 1966 TV series, and Batman: The Animated Series in the future, remaking older and more recent models. A minifigure-scale Batman Forever build would also be an option, further down the line. The fact that the collection would only necessitate a single accompanying minifigure, as much as more of them would be ideal, makes it easier to cover the cars, too.

The list also names the Arkham Knight Batmobile, which has yet to receive a LEGO depiction. While we have to see what this vehicle looks like in the game, the Legendary Batmobile Collection offers a good opportunity to represent the game series in a one-off model, with only a single minifigure required. Batman & Robin has already received similar treatment, so it will be worth watching the collection over the next few years.

This collection concept is going to be useful to contain the various Batmobile models in one place, especially when they can't quite fit into any movie-specific wave.

For now, the Legendary Batmobile Collection and a logo recreation launch on March 1, 2026 and you can find out more about these new releases by clicking here.
