LEGO Boop campaign ends with full claymation movie

The eight-month LEGO Boop campaign has come to a close with the debut of the short film blending claymation with stop motion made by Aardman.

In August 2025, the LEGO Group teamed up with Aardman to create a new short film about an alien in a world of LEGO, calling on the community to help them flesh out the narrative. Since then, the team at Aardman have been hard at work making the full LEGO Boop short film, and they have finally shared the results of this partnership.

You can watch the short film on the campaign's landing page on LEGO.com, and watch the trailer in the following embedded video.

“To see the results of the collaboration between LEGO Insiders Club, Aardman and young builders is inspirational," said Anna Rafferty, SVP of Digital Consumer Engagement at the LEGO Group. "This work puts storytelling and the joy of creation front and centre and embodies our commitment to inspiring the creators of tomorrow.”

LEGO enthusiasts were able to submit ideas for the short film's story on the LEGO Play app, and Aardman's animation team worked to turn the ideas into claymation and stop motion scenes.

“The response to the LEGO Play app stop-motion studio series and our lovable alien Boop has been phenomenal and inspirational, we’ve seen lots of passionate engagement from young LEGO fans – and (hopefully!) future animators – whose ideas helped shape and influence the final film," shared Sarah Cox, Chief Creative Director of Aardman.

This seems to be the end of LEGO Boop, but the partnership with Aardman is confirmed to continue in a LEGO Ideas Wallace & Gromit set at some point in the future.

There are two references to Wallace & Gromit and the upcoming LEGO Ideas set in the short film, reminding us that the model is on the way. There are no details regarding its final design available at the time of writing. In the meantime, click here for a guide to what's coming to the theme.
