BrickLink Designer Program Sushi Restaurant review 09 1200x800

Pre-order from BrickLink from Feb 16, 2026

It’s possible to nitpick 910060 Sushi Restaurant. There are some small flaws in places within this enormous 3,604-piece set. Bricks that don’t quite line up; flimsy side-builds; the inclusion of string elements that don’t quite behave the way they look on official photos.

Yes, you can get bogged down in the minute detail. No, 910060 Sushi Restaurant is not completely perfect. But it’s hard to imagine anybody building this set and having any serious complaints. It's beautiful, striking, highly detailed, filled with delightful surprises, and is so ambitious that any areas where it doesn’t entirely stick the landing can be easily overlooked.

BrickLink Designer Program Sushi Restaurant review 07 1200x800

A BrickLink Designer Program set that will be available solely for pre-order in Series 7's crowdfunding phase, this set is on the larger side for the program, and is one of the more grounded and realistic builds on offer this time around. It’s clearly designed to sit alongside previous urban buildings from the BrickLink Designer Program – sets like Art Factory and Brick Cross Train Station – as well as the official LEGO Modular Buildings Collection.

Be warned, though: integrating this set into a modular building line-up is going to make everything else on your street look sub-par by comparison.

It’s not just that 910060 Sushi Restaurant contains a lot more elements than a standard modular building of its size. It’s that this is such a carefully-rendered, detail-oriented set that’s overflowing with charm and character. There have been plenty of LEGO sets based on Japanese architecture and culture to date (some adapting this source material more accurately than others). There has never before been a set that feels quite so Miyazaki-esque; this almost feels like it could be the backdrop for a beloved Studio Ghibli animated film.

The building experience is surprisingly straightforward for a BrickLink Designer Program set. As these models are designed by fans with an advanced understanding of how LEGO can be pushed to its limits as a creative medium, the sets tend to be a little more complicated than standard LEGO fare and can be a bit flimsy at times during construction.

Not so here – although 910060 Sushi Restaurant is certainly complicated and involves putting together a lot of smaller elements, the set’s construction is relatively simple. If there is a struggle to be had here, it’s simply in the sheer number of elements that go into the build, rather than any kind of difficulty in putting said bricks where they need to go.

That said, if there is a complaint to be made of the build experience, it’s one that’s hardly the fault of the designer. This set contains a primarily brown colour scheme, and alas, it’s not always easy to tell which specific shade of brown the instructions are referring to. Again, a small nitpick in a set that is otherwise phenomenal.

910060 Sushi Restaurant is a gorgeous piece of art which is unfortunately fairly expensive as far as the BrickLink Designer Program goes, but anyone who is able and willing to pre-order the set will certainly not be disappointed. This is yet another gem in a growing collection of stellar fan-designed LEGO sets.
