A massive model of a Czech royal crown has been unveiled as part of the LEGO Kladno Factory’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
It’s been 25 years since the LEGO Kladno Factory opened its doors in Czechia, going from just 80 employees in 2000 to more than 3,300 today. The site has become an essential part of the LEGO Group’s region-based supply network since then, with staff spanning generations and some entire families working side-by-side.
As part of the LEGO Kladno Factory’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the site’s Model Production team utilised its skills to create an impressive two-metre-high replica of the medieval Czech royal crown, one that’s been assembled from 128,333 individual LEGO bricks.
The huge build was unveiled and is currently on display in Prague’s historical Hradcany Square, with local children and families invited to ‘Play Like a King’, take part in fun activities, explore Czech history through play, build their own crowns and make royal minifigures.
“Over the past 25 years, the Kladno factory has been home to incredible displays of innovation, craftsmanship and creativity,” said Michaela T. Horáková, General Manager of the LEGO Factory Kladno. “This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the people who play a vital role in bringing LEGO play experiences to children and families around the world. The skill and passion of the team in Kladno makes me very excited for what’s to come over the next 25 years.”
The 124,000 square metre factory boasts a talented group of engineers, artists and designers, who have been responsible for creating many LEGO Brand retail store models, as well as the life-sized F1 cars that were revealed at the Miami Grand Prix earlier this year.
