These LEGO Horizon Adventures machines have us aching for more physical sets

Guerrilla Games has shown off more of LEGO Horizon Adventures’ brick-built machines, and they have us aching for more physical LEGO Horizon sets.

The PlayStation franchise dipped its toes into the LEGO pool in 2022 with 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, but it’s been all quiet on the post-apocalyptic front since then – at least where physical products are concerned. Over in the digital realm, LEGO Aloy will be taking down machines, dressing up as Sackboy and riding roller coasters from November 14 in LEGO Horizon Adventures.

Developer Guerrilla Games has now shared a closer look at the brick-built mechanical beasts we’ll be conquering on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch next month, two of which have never been seen in physical sets. The 1,222-piece Tallneck includes a small Watcher on its display base, and they’re both among this latest batch of artwork – if slightly redesigned – but what’s most intriguing are the Shell-Walker and Thunderjaw.

The latter machine in particular feels like the obvious candidate for a physical LEGO Horizon set, wearing its dino influences firmly on its sleeve, and the digital build is absolutely glorious. It captures every nook and cranny of the bipedal baddie, and while it’s pretty tricky to tell for sure from this one image, it also seems like it’s been designed in such a way that you can build it from real pieces.

Now all we need is for the LEGO Group and Guerrilla Games to serve up an easy way for us to build these machines for ourselves. If the video game does well, that could still be on the cards – but it is surprising that the title is debuting without any support from physical merchandise. Still, who knows what the LEGO design team might have up its sleeve for 2025…

LEGO Horizon Adventures lands on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch on November 14, and is available to pre-order from digital storefronts now.
