The upcoming LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde certainly has an impressive exterior, but even the interior stays close to the original inspiration.
The real-life commercial Concorde had the capacity for 100 people, seated across rows of four seats. The cabins were fitted out very traditionally for the time, with brown leather seats originally and much more room than you'd expect in most modern flights. According to Heritage Concorde, early passengers were actually disappointed to see such old-fashioned decor, hoping for something more futuristic to reflect the supersonic technology that powered the Concorde.
10318 Concorde has stuck close to this traditional decor in the LEGO Group's miniature rendition of the iconic plane. While you can only see one section of the interior, the same structure of four seats per row, with a central aisle, has been kept to, along with the leather-brown colour.
What's more, we've already noted that the LEGO Icons designers even paid close attention to the needs of 10318 Concorde's passengers by including not one, but two toilets in the build.
However, there is one difference between the two structures, with the only double toilet setup in the real-life plane sitting directly in the middle of the plane, rather than closer to the front, as in the brick-built version. Still, this layout was presumably necessary for 10318 Concorde in order for both toilets to be visible and keep a symmetrical interior throughout.
