Surprise LEGO Jurassic World 2024 listings point to another brick-built dino

Surprise LEGO Jurassic World 2024 listings point to another brick-built dino

Surprise listings for two LEGO Jurassic World sets apparently on the way in 2024 suggest we may be getting another brick-built dinosaur next year.

Among all the January 2024 sets currently listed at brickmerge.de – including Star Wars, Icons, Marvel, Harry Potter and more – few of us would have expected to see Jurassic World, for two reasons: one, we haven’t had any Jurassic World sets since 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion (this summer’s sets focus exclusively on Jurassic Park); and two, the theme usually debuts new products in spring or summer.

Yet the price comparison site does indeed have listings up for two new sets, both described as Jurassic World rather than Jurassic Park and numbered 76963 and 76964 respectively. The former is apparently a 4+ set named 76393 Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center, with 139 pieces in the box for €39.99. That price-per-piece ratio is par for the course for both LEGO Jurassic World and 4+ sets, which both rely on bigger chunks of plastic to increase their value proposition.

The second set is unnamed at the moment, but will apparently include 577 pieces for just €39.99. The LEGO Jurassic World theme typically swings in completely the opposite direction from a price-per-piece perspective, with its giant moulded dinos pushing up prices without increasing the part count to match. The only set to offer a similar price-per-piece ratio is 2022’s 76956 T. rex Breakout, which includes 1,212 pieces for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99.

What that 18+ set does differently to the rest of the LEGO Jurassic World and Jurassic Park line-up is swap out a large moulded T. rex for a brick-built version, eschewing large lumps of plastic for standard elements. Could the same concept be on the cards for 76964? It’s impossible to tell right now, but 577 pieces isn’t a lot to play with, so we definitely wouldn’t be looking at something on the same scale as 76956 T. rex Breakout.

Check out the table below for all the details on the LEGO Jurassic World 2024 range, and bear in mind that details from brickmerge.de should still not be taken as official confirmation (despite the site’s proven accuracy).
