LEGO Editions Lionel Messi Collector’s Set combo pack revealed

Another LEGO Editions product has surfaced at Amazon, bundling together two of the three Lionel Messi sets into a single package.

66818 Lionel Messi – Collector’s Set combines 43011 Lionel Messi – Football Highlights and 43015 Lionel Messi – Football Legend for an asking price of $109.98 at Amazon US, which will apparently be the exclusive retailer of this 2-in-1 set when it debuts on May 1. That’s the same price as buying both of those sets individually, so the only thing you’re really getting here is some exclusive packaging.

What you’re not getting is 43018 Lionel Messi – Celebration, the other Messi-themed LEGO Editions set dropping in May. At 1,427 pieces, that slice of wall art would have nearly doubled the piece count of this combo pack, and presumably added another $200 to the price tag, so it’s not difficult to see why the LEGO Group opted for a duo rather than a trio in this instance.
