LEGO sets with the most minifigures – September 2025

The biggest LEGO sets don't necessarily have the most minifigures, and here are the models that feature the most minifigures in a single product.

LEGO minifigures have proven to be popular and collectable, and in recent years, some sets have included more than ever before. This can only mean that it's time for a fresh update to our list of LEGO sets with the most minifigures, now counting Chess sets (as much as they dominate the list).

Here's which LEGO sets have the most minifigures, including five that are tied for the bottom spots. Hopefully, you like LEGO chess.

5 (tied) – The first minifigure Death Star, and four Chess sets

Tied for fifth position are four chess sets with 24 minifigures each, as well as 10188 Death Star with another 24 minifigures. The original minifigure Death Star playset's description counts the droids as minifigures, though this would differ in later sets. Despite their different themes across Vikings, Pirates and Castle, the four chess sets features 24 minifigures each for the game pieces, filling in the remaining eight gaps with buildable game pieces.

4 – 76178 Daily Bugle

76178 Daily Bugle is a love letter to Spider-Man. The web-slinging hero has faced dozens of villains and made even more friends throughout his adventures. That left the LEGO Group designers with a massive list of 60 potential minifigures. The team behind the LEGO Marvel set managed to whittle this down to 25 minifigures. Some particular favourites of ours include Miles Morales, the Green Goblin, and Mysterio (complete with his spherical head).

3 (tied) – 76269 Avengers Tower

Coming in at the top, we have the upcoming 76269 Avengers Tower with 28 minifigures. There are 31 figures in this skyscraper creation, but that includes the brick-built DUM-E, a Hulk bigfig and an Ant-Man statuette. 28 minifigures is still a commendable total, including many exclusive variants such as the most detailed vision on the market and even Kevin Feige.

3 (tied – 853373 Knights' Kingdom Chess Set

Another chess set is next up, as 853373 Knights' Kingdom Chess Set features fewer buildable game pieces and more minifigures, with a total of 28 LEGO characters to play the iconic game with. This is despite the piece count of 201 elements, since a large single element makes up the fortress foundations of the chessboard.

2 – 852293 Castle Giant Chess Set

One of the biggest LEGO chess sets is next, with 852293 Castle Giant Chess Set. Its 2,292 elements result in a staggering 31 minifigures. Counting the bigger orcs takes that to 33, but they're more bigfigs similar to Hulk in 76269 Avengers Tower. Even with them, it wouldn't be close enough to top the list. Without them, 31 minifigures is a huge total and provides more than enough to populate a fantasy-focused Castle display.

1 – 75419 Death Star

The new LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star is not only the most expensive LEGO set of all time, and one of the biggest, but it also features the most minifigures in a single LEGO set to date. The 38 minifigures in 75419 Death Star include several Stormtroopers, Galen Erso, familiar faces and much more.
