The first list of rumoured LEGO Speed Champions 2026 sets has raced into view, comprising three returning manufacturers and two new movie-inspired cars.
Following a Formula 1-heavy year for the theme in 2025, it looks like LEGO Speed Champions is resuming business as usual in 2026. That’s according to reliable rumour source Renown, who’s shared an initial list of five Speed Champions cars supposedly zooming on to shelves in January next year.
In the mix here are two cars based on movies, as the LEGO Group builds on June’s sell-out 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 with more vehicles pulled from the silver screen (including one that’s about as on-the-nose as you can get for a theme that consists entirely of cars). Check out the full roster one by one below.
77253 Bugatti Vision GT

If you’re looking at the Vision GT and thinking it looks an awful lot like the Bugatti Chiron, well, you’d be right: this one-of-a-kind 2015 concept car informed the Chiron’s design language a year later. 77253 Bugatti Vision GT should therefore act as a kind of spiritual successor to 75878 Bugatti Chiron, released in 2017 when LEGO Speed Champions was still operating at six studs wide.
77254 Ferrari SF90 XX

The track variant of the relatively new Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the first road-legal car in the XX Programme could also bring us a first for LEGO Speed Champions: a Ferrari in a colour other than red. The version Ferrari shows off on its website is in what the manufacturer calls a ‘Flash Orange’ livery, which is mostly white with orange highlights, and would be fun to see recreated in 77254 Ferrari SF90 XX.
77255 Lightning McQueen

Maybe the most left-field inclusion in this list, 77255 Lightning McQueen is a movie-inspired car few of us likely saw coming. But maybe we should have: the Owen Wilson-voiced character appears in a trilogy of movies called ‘Cars’, after all. Short of a miniature Wilson in a recording booth, this could well be the first LEGO Speed Champions set to eschew minifigures entirely.
77256 Back to the Future Time Machine

We’ve had first and second Back to the Future DeLoreans, yes, but what about third Back to the Future DeLorean? Fulfilling a longstanding request from the fan community, 77256 Back to the Future Time Machine feels like an obvious pick for a LEGO Speed Champions movie car – the only real question is whether it will include both Doc and Marty minifigures. Only one of the pair would feel a little stingy…
77257 McLaren W1

Another newbie in the automotive world, the McLaren W1 is the successor to the P1, which received the LEGO Speed Champions treatment all the way back in the theme’s very first wave. A supercar cast in McLaren’s iconic papaya orange and black colour scheme, only 399 units will be manufactured when it enters production in 2025. There’ll probably be a fair few more copies of 77257 McLaren W1 to go round in 2026.
That’s assuming these rumours are true, of course, and that’s never a wise assumption to make. (Especially six months out from release.) Take them with a grain of salt for now…
