LEGO Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Minifigures spotted on shelves early

The hunt is on as LEGO Marvel’s new Across the Spider-Verse blind-boxed minifigures have turned up on shelves early in the US.

Officially due for release on September 1, 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse serves up 12 new minifigures from the animated movie, including Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man 2099 and deeper cuts such as Spider-Punk, Werewolf Spider-Man and Spider-Byte. Redditor PracticalData5583 has now spotted dozens of the new boxes already on sale at one Walmart location in the US.

This is nothing new for Collectible Minifigures series, which typically show up in at least a handful of stores around the world before their official release date. Anyone hoping to begin the hunt for their own collection of Spider-Verse minifigures should start at Walmart – and if you do find them and pick any up, this is the moment to get in touch with Brick Search on andrew@tiromedia.co.uk to help add new codes to the app.

Like previous Minifigures series, each 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse blind box features a data matrix code on the bottom that can identify the character inside. These codes tend to differ between regions and occasionally even types of outer packaging (so whether they come in a case of 12 or 36, for example), so having as many different codes as possible is the way to ensure Brick Search’s minifigure scanner works for everyone around the world.
