Inspired by the recent news that the LEGO Star Wars Empire is powered by Octan, one LEGO builder has made it a reality.
Earlier this month, we shared part of our interview with Jackson Hughes, the LEGO designer of 75440 AT-AT, where he touched on a running joke that the LEGO Star Wars Empire is fuelled by Octan, the in-universe LEGO fuel and evil corporation from The LEGO Movie. Inspired by that tidbit from behind-the-scenes at LEGO Star Wars, one builder has taken the Empire x Octan partnership one step further.
Redditor FancyMan135790 shared a photo of an Octan-sponsored 75440 AT-AT, decked out in red, white, and green company colours. There are Octan logos on the head and front panel, as well as an Octan-ified Empire logo on the rear panel.

The custom pictured above is likely a render as it contains non-existent pieces, but you could recreate a version of it for yourself. There are printed Octan tiles from sets that were in circulation back in the '90s available to buy on BrickLink for as little as £0.01. While those are 1x4 tiles, you could fill in the gaps with plain white tiles to create a similar look to what FancyMan135790 managed above. Sadly, there's no official way to get that Empire logo.
Needless to say, the comments section is having a lot of fun with 75440 AT-AT's Octan redesign.
"Ah, the most evil empire of all time, feared across the galaxy, the scourge of a thousand worlds. And they’ve teamed up with Palpatine!" wrote one redditor, Goldman250.
To try a version of this for yourself, 75440 AT-AT is available to buy now on LEGO.com for £59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99.
