LEGO The Simpsons sets seem to be shrinking, apart from the price

LEGO The Simpsons' rumoured 2025 set suggests that the range's models may be shrinking, but unfortunately not in terms of price.

A recent list of piece counts for various rumoured LEGO Icons 2025 sets from a member of Brick Tap, reported via Clay Bricks on Instagram, includes word that 10352 Krusty Burger will include 1,635 elements – a major decrease from the last two LEGO The Simpsons sets.

71006 The Simpsons House and 71016 Kwik-E-Mart both come in at over 2,000 pieces, depicting the locations at approximate minifigure-scale with a fully-enclosed build. Rumour has it that 10352 Krusty Burger will be at least 500 pieces less than both builds when you would expect it to be similarly sized to 71016 Kwik-E-Mart at least.

By comparison, the price is rumoured to be higher than both sets. Even when you consider the recent price increases, $229.99 for a 1,635-piece build isn't cheap and doesn't match the pricing of the previous LEGO The Simpsons sets when there are said to be 500 or 1,000 fewer elements.

This increased cost may be due to the rumour that 10352 Krusty Burger will see the return of the specialised head moulds for the animated characters a decade later, which might be costly depending on the number of minifigures. The price for the license may have increased too.

Putting the price aside, 1,635 pieces compared to the over 2,000 elements of the other LEGO The Simpsons sets posits that either the 2025 model won't be at the same scale as them, or that it will come with some kind of sacrifice in the build.

To keep to the same scale, the LEGO Group may opt to keep the back of the rumoured set open at the back, but this would look odd on display next to the other two models. On the other hand, they were both released over a decade ago and such designs might not be as much of a requirement for The Simpsons anymore.

Keeping the fully enclosed design with 1,635 parts is entirely possible still as Brickalive has depicted a full LEGO Krusty Burger using just 1,387 elements. That would give the LEGO Group around 250 parts to add additional details and minifigures, but it would still be notably smaller than the last two builds.

It's not making a LEGO Krusty Burger with 1,600 parts that's an issue for the rumoured 2025 set – it's the reported cost directly compared to the last two sets that may influence its appeal. Including more minifigures of fan-favourite characters would help make it more enticing and it will be interesting to see what plan is in place – if any – for the rumoured 2025 model, should this report end up being accurate.

Here's what's currently rumoured and confirmed for LEGO Icons next year, some of which launch in just over a week.
