As well as a hand-cranked chocolate waterfall, the S.S. Wonkatania ship and plenty of brick-built sweet treats, the LEGO Ideas set is also full of fun Easter eggs for fans of the 1971 live-action Gene wilder film to pick up on.

With that in mind, here’s our list of five dandy candy-coloured secrets that are just waiting to be found and unwrapped within
1 – Everlasting Gobstopper

In the fan-favourite movie, Willy Wonka introduces the Golden Ticket winners to a special machine that can create Everlasting Gobstoppers. While the rainbow sweets were relatively small on the big-screen, a giant-sized version of the confectionery can be spotted round the back of the LEGO Ideas build.
2 – Tiny Mike Teavee

When Mike Teavee misuses the Wonkavision teleporter in the movie, he becomes the first kid to literally be transported onto television. That scene is partially recreated in miniature form in
3 – Odd office accessories

Also hidden around the back of the LEGO Ideas build is Willy Wonka’s office, one that’s full of inexplicable half-accessories. Eagle-eyed fans will be able to spot lickable wallpaper, yellow cellophane from the movie’s Golden Egg Room, a bottle from the Fizzy Lifting Drinks room and more surprises.
4 – Male and female Oompa Loompas

In a recent interview with fan media, the LEGO Ideas design team confirmed that the two Oompa Loompa minifigures included in
“We do have male and female [Oompa Loompas]. One has eyelashes and one that doesn’t,” said LEGO Ideas designer Crisy Dyment. “In researching the film, they were both male and female actors, so we wanted to make sure we were authentic to that.”
