The LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition trailer has gathered a crowd online with much discussion centred around two characters.
A new LEGO Marvel animated special is less than a week away and there's been a surprising amount of excitement for LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition online, seemingly thanks to two characters that cameo in the trailer. Gambit of the X-Men and Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, of the Fantastic Four are featured in the trailer and Gambit appears a few times, seemingly as a more central character than the orange bigfig.
Minifigures (or bigfigs) of both characters have only ever appeared in video games before so the online community's excitement to see new designs for both characters is understandable, especially as a comic-based Fantastic Four set is rumoured for next year. Still, some enthusiasts online are exceedingly excited by the very presence of LEGO Gambit and The Thing.
As well as overall excitement from waywardjedi97 and TheresaCampagna, RPHutch1975 was quick to point out Gambit's expertise in playing card games, which you'd expect from a hero whose powers revolve around supercharging items (mostly playing cards).
Most notably, the voice actor for Gambit in X-Men '97 was notified of LEGO Gambit by ScarletJeffy. AJ LoCascio seems surprised to see a minifigure version of the character, suggesting that he's not voicing Gambit in Mission Demolition.
The character may not have any lines at all, as is common for cameos in these specials. Still, it's undoubtedly cool to see the voice actor recognise LEGO Gambit. Aside from Gambit, various users on X (formerly Twitter) were eager to see other characters as minifigures in the upcoming special.
The excitement surrounding Mission Demolition is more than most other LEGO Marvel animated projects and you can watch the special starting from October 18 on Disney+.
