It sounds like we’re gearing up for a new contender for the most expensive LEGO set of all time, so here’s a reminder of the priciest sets you can buy right now…
While 2024 saw its fair share of costly LEGO sets hit shelves, none of them managed to crack the all-time top 10 most expensive sets list, which has remained static since late 2023. That looks set to change later this year if the fully armed and operational 75419 Death Star arrives as expected in October, with a rumoured retail price of $999.99 in the US.
That would instantly win it the crown of the most expensive LEGO set ever released (for better or worse), but what does its current competition look like? Some of the sets in the overall top 10 have now retired – so here’s a reminder of the most expensive LEGO sets money can buy (at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores) as of February 2025…
10 – 71043 Hogwarts Castle
Price: £409.99 / $469.99 / €469.99 Pieces: 6,020 Release date: September 1, 2018

LEGO Harry Potter’s first direct-to-consumer set is still available going on six and a half years after it originally hit shelves, speaking to the persistent popularity of this slice of microscale magic. It’s received a price bump since 2018 that solidifies it as the 10th-most-expensive LEGO set available right now – though you can frequently find it discounted, which can’t be said for every set on this list.
=7 – 75397 Jabba's Sail Barge
Price: £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 Pieces: 3,942 Release date: October 3, 2024

Three different LEGO sets come in at the next price point, and the smallest of them by piece count is far and away
=7 – 76269 Avengers Tower
Price: £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 Pieces: 5,201 Release date: November 24, 2023

The current record-holder for the most minifigures in a single LEGO set (31 in total), 76269 Avengers Tower offers much more bang for your buck than
=7 – 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell
Price: £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 Pieces: 6,167 Release date: March 5, 2023

The biggest of the three sets available right now for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 is also the best set on this list for a lot of people. Case in point, 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell currently occupies pole position in Brick Fanatics’ Top 20 LEGO sets list – and feels unlikely to be dethroned any time soon. (Well, depending on what that $1,000 Death Star ends up delivering…)
6 – 75331 The Razor Crest
Price: £519.99 / $599.99 / €599.99 Pieces: 6,187 Release date: October 3, 2022

It’s probably no surprise that LEGO Star Wars is responsible for several of the sets in this list, but what remains surprising to this day is that the LEGO Group was happy to devote such a large and expensive slot in its Star Wars portfolio to what was then a relatively new ship (and ultimately exploded in Season 2 of The Mandalorian). 75331 The Razor Crest has nonetheless carved out its place in the line-up – but is finally due to retire in 2025.
5 – 10307 Eiffel Tower
Price: £554.99 / $629.99 / €629.99 Pieces: 10,001 Release date: November 25, 2022

The biggest LEGO set by piece count that isn’t a collection of 1x1 tiles, 10307 Eiffel Tower is still only the fifth-most-expensive LEGO set money can buy right now. Yet the real cost of this Parisian icon is not necessarily the price (though that’s obviously a big part of it), but the space required to display it – the finished model stands 57cm wide and deep, and a staggering 149cm tall. (Which, yes, also makes it the tallest LEGO set ever.)
4 – 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser
Price: £559.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 Pieces: 5,374 Release date: October 1, 2023

The largest LEGO Star Wars prequel trilogy Ultimate Collector Series set yet, 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser is another serious space-hog – but one that you can at least hang from your ceiling if you’re brave enough. (We are not brave enough.) It’s only £5 more expensive than 10307 Eiffel Tower and only £20 cheaper than the next set on this list, so there’s really not much between this cluster of builds.
3 – 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000
Price: £579.99 / $699.99 / €699.99 Pieces: 2,883 Release date: August 1, 2023

Don’t let that piece count fool you: LEGO Technic’s most expensive set of all time costs this much because it’s absolutely gargantuan, and packs in an endless array of motors that when bought separately would cost £320 all on their own. It’s easily the most ambitious LEGO Technic set ever – but anyone interested should start figuring out how to pay for it now, because it’s currently scheduled to retire in 2025.
2 – 10294 Titanic
Price: £589.99 / $679.99 / €679.99 Pieces: 9,090 Release date: November 8, 2021

The last of four LEGO sets on this list sailing in between £550 and £600, 10294 Titanic has proven something of a holy grail for LEGO fans already, building into an accomplished and admirable recreation of the doomed cruise liner. This one won’t require quite as much vertical space, but you will need a very wide shelf to display it: the LEGO Icons set measures a stunning 135cm long.
1 – 75192 Millennium Falcon
Price: £734.99 / $849.99 / €849.99 Pieces: 7,541 Release date: October 1, 2017

75192 Millennium Falcon turns eight years old in 2025, and will surely still be wearing the crown of the most expensive LEGO set of all time as it blows out the candles. 75313 AT-AT managed to match it in 2021 but retired at the end of 2024, leaving this iconic hunk of junk as the unparalleled victor – at least until 75419 Death Star comes along and makes light work of it…
Rumours of a new $1,000 LEGO Star Wars Death Star should still be treated lightly for now, but check back in October to see if this list has a new champion.
