LEGO Star Wars' May the 4th event for 2025 is almost here with another exclusive set, and it ranks high among the May the 4th exclusive models.
Each year for May the 4th since 2016, the LEGO Group offers an exclusive LEGO Star Wars set, and they've covered all kinds of subject matter from the prequel and original trilogies. While we wait for the 2025 version of the event to begin, with more details available on our dedicated page, we're ranking each of these exclusive sets.
For this list, we're only counting exclusive sets offered during May the 4th each year, and will not be ranking the exclusive standalone minifigures that used to be offered each year or standard polybags given away. They must have debuted for and been designed specifically for May the 4th to count.
Here's how we've ranked these exclusive and enticing sets from 2016 to 2025, with the best at the end of this report. This ranking is subjective and you're welcome to share your version in the comments.
8 – 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier

With six Battle Droids, two Pilot Battle Droids and 262 pieces, 40686 Trade Federation Trooper Carrier is by no means a bad LEGO Star Wars set, but it's not the most suitable subject matter for a gift-with-purchase.
2024's exclusive GWP covers a vehicle from the Battle of Naboo that is ideal for army-building. Unfortunately, the threshold required to earn a single copy of this set means its army-building potential is drastically held back. The execution of the model itself is great – it's just not a great choice for a gift-with-purchase and especially not one during the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars.
7 – 40333 Battle of Hoth - 20th Anniversary Edition

2019 marked the 20th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, and the year's exclusive May the 4th set started a trio of landscape-based dioramas with their base built on its side.
The build for 40333 Battle of Hoth - 20th Anniversary Edition is interesting, but partially due to how often Hoth is covered in LEGO Star Wars, it lacks enough exclusive features to help it stand out in the LEGO Star Wars portfolio.
6 – 6176782 Escape the Space Slug

6176782 Escape the Space Slug is much more exclusive than the rest of the sets on this list, offered only at invitation-only May the 4th events in LEGO Stores in 2016. Despite this, the exclusive model covers a scene not featured in any other LEGO Star Wars set.
The moment where the Millennium Falcon escapes the giant space slug is captured on a small scale in the 161-piece build. Given its especially limited availability in 2016, it's a perfect candidate for a May the 4th gift-with-purchase remake.
5 – 40407 Death Star II Battle

2020's 40407 Death Star II Battle has more detail than any other landscape diorama gift-with-purchase, but it was ultimately overshadowed by 2022's 75329 Death Star Trench Run Diorama.
This particular May the 4th gift-with-purchase is still appealing for covering a moment not often depicted in LEGO Star Wars, as much as the first Death Star battle has been covered much and noting the similarities between the two.
4 – 40591 Death Star II

40591 Death Star II from 2023 celebrates the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi with one of the most displayable LEGO Star Wars Death Star models to date.
It's not quite as appealing for exclusive features as other LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gifts, but its excellent execution for display-loving LEGO Star Wars fans makes it one of the more tempting gifts-with-purchase offered over the past decade.
3 – 40451 Tatooine Homestead

40451 Tatooine Homestead is arguably the best of the three side-built landscape gifts-with-purchase. Its varied landscape and multiple iconic features help it to stand out from the crowd and create a LEGO Star Wars scene that is easy to display in your home.
It's also home to the first LEGO Star Wars Aunt Beru figure, but it would be hugely overshadowed by a future May the 4th gift-with-purchase.
2 – 40765 Kamino Training Facility

This year's 40765 Kamino Training Facility is undoubtedly one of the greatest exclusive May the 4th gifts-with-purchase ever offered. This is thanks in no small part to the array of exclusive clone minifigures with a level of printing and detail not often seen in LEGO Star Wars.
Add to that the variety of unique models which are unlikely to be seen in another LEGO Star Wars set anytime soon, and it's likely to be popular next month. It falls under a similar category to 2024's 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier in that enthusiasts will want to collect multiple to get as many cadets as possible, but the genuine exclusives give 40765 Kamino Training Facility a distinct advantage.
1 – 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen

2022's 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen is precisely what a LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gift-with-purchase needs to be – something that won't be in the theme again with an exclusive character.
Aunt Beru's appearances in LEGO Star Wars can be counted on one hand, but she only has one minifigure in 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen. She comes in a suitably futuristic kitchen scene with some notable techniques and Easter eggs. It's the kind of subject matter that only the most dedicated Star Wars fans will recognise and that makes it perfect for a LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gift-with-purchase.
