Remastered LEGO Harry Potter Collection out now for PS5 and Xbox Series X

The remastered LEGO Harry Potter Collection from TT Games is out today for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, revamping these retro titles for yet another new generation.

Bundling together LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 in one box with visual upgrades, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection was originally released on PS4 in 2016 and on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in 2018. TT Games has now added even more tweaks and refinements to bring the game to ninth-generation consoles, including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.

While this isn’t quite the grand all-in-one LEGO Harry Potter video game experience many have been hoping for since the dust settled on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, it does still provide the opportunity to play through all eight movies (segmented in two halves). And given these games originally debuted on seventh-generation consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2010 and 2011, there’s a fair chance many younger games have never played them.

The complete collection includes both games as well as two downloadable content packs, a character pack and a spell pack. New features for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X include enhanced graphics, 60fps gameplay, native 4K resolution, haptic feedback and high-resolution shadow maps. TT Games will be hoping that’s enough to entice veteran gamers to triple-dip on LEGO Harry Potter titles while introducing the Wizarding World to a new audience.

The studio is currently working on its next big project, meanwhile, which is confirmed to be hooked to a ‘major IP’. Previous rumours have pointed to a new LEGO Harry Potter game, but that would make re-releasing its original Wizarding World titles a pretty strange move…

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC now. Amazon UK is currently selling the PS5 version for £29.99, and the Xbox version for only £27.95.
