This potential LEGO Ideas set is… fine

Ten thousand LEGO fans have decided that they’d quite like to build their own meme, and it’s one that’s arguably never been more appropriate than right now.

Just look around at, well, everything going on in the world and tell us that the ‘This is Fine’ meme has never been more relevant. The LEGO Ideas community clearly agrees, having collectively taken eat.sleep.build.repeat.’s 1,061-piece recreation of the iconic image to the second 2025 review in a little under three months.

The two-panel image is pulled from a legendary KC Green comic from 2013, and is pretty much universally used to describe a situation in which everything is definitely not fine (hence the room burning down around the comic’s anthropomorphic canine character).

“The ‘This is Fine’ comic by KC Green has become a symbol of maintaining composure in chaotic situations, something that resonates with many people,” eat.sleep.build.repeat. explains on the project page. “I wanted to bring this humour into the physical world using LEGO, combining creativity, pop culture, and a bit of self-awareness into a fun, buildable set.”

The builder says that memes have been ‘overlooked’ by the LEGO Group, and that their model could conceivably serve dual purpose as a piggy bank or book nook. It now enters the second 2025 review, during which the LEGO Ideas review board will decide whether or not to turn it into an official LEGO set sold on store shelves. We’ll likely find out one way or the other early next year.
