We've already rounded up the most valuable LEGO Star Wars minifigures, but there are some minifigures whose value is confusing at best.
Some LEGO Star Wars minifigures are worth their weight in gold and others fetch unexpectedly high prices thanks to a single key detail specific to that minifigure. Otherwise, they resemble minifigures that have been available in other sets or forms that don't fetch nearly as much on the secondary market.
Here are five unexpectedly valuable LEGO Star Wars minifigures from the 25-year history of LEGO Star Wars according to listings on MinifigPriceGuide based on estimated values and BrickLink's sales from the last six months.
5 – Angry Jango Fett
Catch Jango Fett on a good day and you'll only be able to sell him for around £40.42 from 75015 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid but get him mad and you'll have a minifigure worth a whopping £122.65 on BrickLink. There are some minor differences in the printing on the rest of the body between these two minifigures but even then, that's a considerable price difference for what is essentially the same minifigure but with a different expression.
4 – The Yoda Chronicles' Padawan with small eyes
A brick-built Holocron Chamber was given away to journalists in May 2013 to promote the premiere of The Yoda Chronicles, including an exclusive young Padawan minifigure. This minifigure comes in two forms depending on the copy of the set with either small eyes or big eyes. Those seeking a profit will want to hope for the small-eyed version which sells for £251.82 compared to the other version for £64.47.
3 – Black-haired Kanan Jarrus
Kanan Jarrus' most inaccurate minifigure from 75053 The Ghost is much more valuable than his accurate, brown-haired counterpart in three LEGO Star Wars: Rebels sets, including some copies of 75053 The Ghost. Those who have a black-haired Kanan in their collection have a minifigure worth £202.46 compared to £15.15 compared to the more accurate version. Sometimes, mistakes pay off for LEGO Star Wars.
2 – Pearl Sand Blue Super Battle Droid
The pearl sand blue Super Battle Droid exclusively from 2002's 7163 Republic Gunship may not be the most accurate Super Battle Droid but once again, inaccurate minifigures can be valuable as this minifigure is valued at £62.23 on BrickLink. Other Super Battle Droid minifigures tend to go for around £6 and this is a considerable difference.
1 – Phase 2 Captain Rex with additional cloth
The saga of the Phase 2 Captain Rex minifigures is an interesting one with recent minifigures based on this iteration of the character featured in the expensive
