Fresh update on LEGO 2K Goooal! reveal and release dates

Firmer reveal and release windows for upcoming LEGO football game LEGO 2K Goooal! have surfaced online, pointing to an imminent announcement for 2K Games’ latest LEGO title.

Reliable industry source Kurakasis reported last week that the reveal of LEGO 2K Goooal! is ‘right around the corner’, with a release sometime around this summer’s EURO 2024 tournament. They’ve now clarified that the football game will likely be announced in March, and then released in May or June. That timing lines up with the Euros, which kick off on June 14 in Germany.

We don’t know much about 2K Games’ next LEGO venture so far, beyond its title and a list of platforms – PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC – sourced from various early retailer listings. The game was originally slated to drop in September last year (at least according to Amazon), and Kurakasis notes that the official announcement ‘has been postponed before’.

That means it’s entirely possible that LEGO 2K Goooal! may not be revealed in March after all, so don’t put all your gaming eggs in this one particular basket at the moment. But there’s plenty of potential in a LEGO football title – something with the arcade stylings of the Mario Strikers series could be video game gold – and 2K Games has pedigree with last year’s LEGO 2K Drive.

The one image we have from the game so far (pictured up top) suggests it will at least dive deep into the extensive back catalogue of LEGO minifigures. Here's to scoring a jammy last-minute tap-in with Cheetah Girl.
