We've broken down all of the 38 minifigures in LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star, the most minifigures ever included in a single set.
75419 Death Star breaks a few records, one of which is that it includes the largest number of minifigures in a LEGO set ever. That's 38 minifigures, including seven characters making their minifigure debuts and different versions of some of the central figures like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
There are also various background staff to populate the Imperial space station, some of which are duplicated. To help you tell your Imperial Crew Member from your Navy Trooper, we've explained every single minifigure in the LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star below.
Original trilogy trio: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo

Naturally, the core trio from the original trilogy is included: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo. Luke gets three versions: one of his original appearance in A New Hope, one in his Stormtrooper disguise for breaking Leia out of prison, and one in his all-black Jedi gear for his final showdown with Palpatine and Vader.
Han also gets two looks, one in his classic black vest and one in a Stormtrooper disguise to match Luke's. Leia gets just one minifigure, in a pretty plain but movie-accurate all-white look, as previously seen in 75339 Death Star Trash Compactor Diorama.
Rebels: Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO, and R2-D2

Other rebels seen at various points on the Death Star are Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the droid duo of C-3PO and R2-D2. None of these minifigures are new or exclusive to this set, and it's particularly disappointing that Threepio doesn't get the dual-moulded legs that he's currently available with in 75398 C-3PO.
Imperial leadership: Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine

To face off the rebels, you, of course, need the Imperial leadership on board the Death Star. 75419 Death Star includes Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine, all as we've seen them before as minifigures. Palpatine has his Sith eyes, cowl, and cape for the full Sith Lord effect.
Imperial support staff: Imperial Dignitary, Colonel Yularen, Admiral Motti, General Tagge, and 5D6-RA-7

Moving onto the lower ranks of the Imperial machine, we've got some characters making their minifigure debuts. Imperial Dignitary, Admiral Motti, General Tagge, and 5D6-RA-7 are all LEGO firsts, fleshing out the lower leadership levels of 75419 Death Star.
The Imperial Dignitary is one of a gaggle of advisers and politicians seen briefly around the Emperor, while Admiral Motti and General Tagge are both ranking officials in the Imperial leadership. Colonel Yularen is also included in the set, although with an all-new look that's similar but not exactly the same as the previous polybag, 5002947 Admiral Yularen.
5D6-RA-7 rounds out this group, an RA-7 protocol droid who served as a spy for the Imperial Security Bureau and Imperial Intelligence.
Rogue One cameos: Director Krennic and Galen Erso

Two men who were instrumental in the creation of the Death Star, as documented in Rogue One, are also featured in the UCS version of the space station: Director Krennic and Galen Erso. In lifestyle pictures, the duo are displayed on the information stand, separating them from the scenes on board that largely follow the original trilogy.
Stormtroopers (x6)

Moving onto the lowest ranks of the Death Star crew, there are six Stormtroopers included in 75419 Death Star. When helmeted, they look interchangeable, but there is some diversity in face prints underneath to help keep the minifigures a little more diverse.
Death Star crew: Death Star Gunner (x2) and Imperial Crew Member (x2)

Speaking of diversity, keeping a mighty machine like the Death Star running requires all kinds of expertise. That's represented in the LEGO Star Wars set with the inclusion of two Death Star Gunners and two Imperial Crew Members, diversifying the play and display possibilities on board.
Imperial Navy staff: Imperial Navy Trooper (x2), Imperial Navy Officer, and Imperial Shuttle Pilot

Considering 75419 Death Star is a space station and comes with an Imperial Shuttle (as well as TIE Fighter if you snap up 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack as a GWP between October 1 and 7), you'll need some naval crew. Included in the UCS set are two Imperial Navy Troopers, an Imperial Navy Officer, and an Imperial Shuttle Pilot.
Imperial Royal Guard (x2)

To recreate the iconic throne room scene, two Imperial Royal Guards are also featured in their red uniforms, marking them out as the elite protectors of the Emperor. The characters may be elite, but the plain legs and lack of detailed printing here leave them looking a little plain in comparison to some other minifigures in this set.
R3-T6

The astromech yin to R2-D2's yang, R3-T6 was an R3-series astromech droid that worked for the Galactic Empire. It is seen briefly on screen working on astronavigational duties on board the first Death Star.
Hot Tub Stormtrooper

Last but certainly not least, Hot Tub Stormtrooper proves that Stormtroopers have personalities and need a bit of downtime too. He's a reference to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, where players can stumble across a room full of hot tub-bathing Stormtroopers. It's a fun nod to Star Wars LEGO canon that injects a splash of classic LEGO humour.
75419 Death Star is available for LEGO Insiders from October 1 and for everyone else from October 4. Retailing at £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99, early adopters can also add 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack to their order for no extra cost between October 1 and 7, or while stocks last.
